Katie is a Lecturer in Counselling, teaching on the MSc Counselling Children and Young People course. Katie has experience with working in a range of educational settings, charities and a specialist hospital with children and young people with additional needs. These experiences encouraged Katie to pursue a career in supporting young people and adults with their emotional and mental health need, and led Katie to train as an UKCP Integrative Psychotherapist with Adults, Children and Young People.

Alongside her lecturing role at BCU, Katie works in a local third sector organisation providing timely and accessible counselling for children, adolescents, and adults within diverse communities. Within this job role Katie has been involved in a range of specialist projects and helped with the delivery of tailored trainings to various professional organisations, young people and parents.

Katie has undertaken the IAPT training for Couples Counselling for depression and has worked with couples to improve their relationship and support each other through depression. Katie also runs a private practice offering psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults.
