Annabel MacFarlane graduated with a BSc Hons in Psychology from the University of Plymouth in 2019. Her research here looked at the changes in brain activity as a result of the environmental changes induced by a hyperbaric chamber.

From here, Annabel was employed as a research assistant at the Centre for Neuroscience in Education, Cambridge University. Here, she worked on a project investigating the brain rhythms of children with developmental dyslexia, focussing on the temporal sampling theory. To investigate, the team used a combination of neuroimaging methods (MEG, MRI, EEG) and behavioural testing.

Following this in 2022, Annabel began her journey as a technician in psychology at the University of Hertfordshire, becoming well versed in the uses of Eyetracking, EEG, physiological measurements and virtual reality in psychological research.

She joined BCU in 2023 as a senior psychology technician and loves supporting the wide variety of research and teaching ongoing. Annabel is passionate about providing students with online and in person research skills and maintains research interests in cognitive neuroscience, sport, health and exercise research.
