An additional teaching space has been created for Acting students, where they will study from January 2024. The new space on Bromley Street in Digbeth is just a short walk from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

The Bromley Street facility has been developed into a creative hub with four studios that will enable a broader range of activities for Acting students. The space will be ready for teaching in the new year.

From Monday 8 January, teaching will take place at Ruskin Hall in Bournville and Bromley Street. Stage Management and the Production Team will remain based in Heneage Street, with certain rehearsals taking place in Bournville and Digbeth.

Digbeth is the longstanding creative quarter of Birmingham, with the BBC announcing last year that it will move there in 2026. Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight has also launched TV and film Digbeth Loc. Studios on Fazeley Street in Digbeth.

Following the move to Digbeth in January, the drama studios in Millennium Point will no longer be in use.

Vice Principal of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire – Acting Professor Stephen Simms said: “We thank staff and students for their patience and understanding over the last few months as we have continued the work on the Bromley Street facility to develop it into a creative hub for our activities. We are excited to share and use the new space with the Acting community.”
