Four 50 minute solo piano programmes from some of the finest young artists in the world. Beginning today, and then running over five days, 20 Young Artists give Public Recitals as part of the Birmingham International Piano Competition.
Jury: Professor Shuhua Chen (China), Professor Klaus Sticken (Austria), Pascal Nemirovski (France), John Thwaites (UK).
Prizes announced on 18 June.
Jazz Improv Workshop

Learn how to play a jazz tune from scratch and how to create your very own musical building blocks. Join this interactive jazz workshop with Juliane Deil all about the core building blocks of jazz music and you’ll have a chance to make up your own melodies. This is open to groups as well as individuals and prior knowledge of playing the piano is not strictly necessary.

Jan Loeffler (pictured) (Head of Piano in Junior RBC and a Senior RBC Piano Tutor) is running this Community Piano Day. Events are all free, but you may also purchase a £30 Participant Ticket which entitles you to a 30 minute One-to-One Lesson (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).
