Rod is an award-winning playwright, a director and a poet. He combines this with regular work at BSA and within the faculty. 'Playing By The Rules' won the Mentorn TV 'Best New Play' award; 'Taking Liberties', on the other hand, caused a scandal in Chester.

He has written considerable number of dramas for Radio 4. As well as this, Rod has worked on creativity and imagination with infant children upwards.

Rod co-edits on one of the UK's busiest review websites, He is also involved heavily in developing arts and cultural policies in Birmingham and the West Midlands region.
