RBC’s annual prize-giving celebrated outstanding achievement across Music and Acting, recognising the accomplishments of students, alumni and honorary award recipients.
Held in a packed Bradshaw Hall on Friday 19 June, the annual ceremony honoured those who have made a significant impact on the Conservatoire and the wider performing arts profession.
Each year, RBC confers honorary awards to individuals who have provided outstanding service to the Conservatoire or distinction in the music and acting profession. The honorary awards fall into two categories: Honorary Fellowships and Honorary Memberships.
Honorary Fellowships
These awards honour musicians and professionals from the world of theatre, screen or broadcasting and to graduates or individuals who have made a significant contribution to the work and life of RBC through professional or voluntary work.
This year titles were conferred to:
- Daniele Pinnock
- Paul Bambrough
- Radhika Balakrishnan
- Rebecca Ledgard
- Stuart Birnie.
Honorary Memberships
Honorary Memberships are awarded to graduates who have achieved notable success in their chosen areas of the profession soon after graduation. This year, the following alumni received titles:
- Nicholas Morris
- Domonkos Csabay
- Arran Pallan
- Gina Baker.
In addition to Honorary Fellowships and Memberships, student award winners were presented with prizes and congratulated by our Principal Stephen Maddock.
The Principal’s Prizes recognised the following achievements:
- Outstanding contribution to the life of the Conservatoire – Acting – Grace Hey
- Outstanding contribution to the life of the Conservatoire – Music – Ethan Jacobs and Justin Jacobs.
Principal Stephen Maddock said: “The RBC Awards are one of the highlights of our academic year, giving us the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students, alumni and honorary award recipients. Their talent, dedication and commitment continue to inspire our entire Conservatoire community.
"We were delighted to enjoy performances from the cast of RBC’s Little Women, the NASA Saxophone Octet and the Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alpesh Chauhan, which made the occasion even more special. Congratulations to every award recipient on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you to everyone who helped make it such a memorable celebration.”
