Fourth-year BMus (Hons) student Japheth Law has been awarded a Musicians’ Company Award to put towards continuing study at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
Totalling £10,000, the award , will be put towards Japheth’s postgraduate MMus study at the Conservatoire.
The Musicians’ Company is the only City of London Livery Company dedicated to the performing arts, and aims to nurture talent and share music through concerts, outreach, awards and a young artists’ programme.
They offer prizes and awards for early-career musicians, funded through the Company’s endowment income, charitable gifts and legacies.
Japheth said: "I am honoured to have been nominated by the RBC and receive the Musician's Company Award. I am incredibly fortunate to have the most wonderful support of my teachers Marie-Christine Zupancic and Andrew Lane, as well as the support of Head of Woodwind Jenni Phillips and Associate Head of Woodwind Douglas Mitchell."
