The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Association (RBCA) has been raising funds to support music students in Birmingham for more than four decades. It is honoured to have former Principals Professor George Caird as its President, and Emeritus Professor Julian Lloyd Webber as its Patron.
Each year the Association gives around £10,000 to students, who may otherwise be unable to fulfil their dreams of studying music.
The Association is looking for two enthusiastic, confident music students to become Student Ambassadors to assist with fundraising and help to raise awareness of the organisation across the student body.
Ambassadors will be able to do the following:
- Help organise RBCA support for Student Welcome Events in September and Farewell Events every summer term.
- Attend one major concert each term where they would give out RBCA leaflets to audience members and talk to them about RBCA membership.
- Lead one RBCA social event during the year to talk about the work of the organisation and the student experience, with an opportunity to perform for RBCA Members.
The successful candidates will gain valuable experience in communications, promotions and event management, which will enhance their employability and would also contribute to the Birmingham City University (BCU) Graduate+ scheme.
The roles are only open to RBC music students. To apply, send your CV and cover letter to volunteering@bcu.ac.uk. The deadline for submission is Monday 29 May.
