Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is proud to be partnering with New Earth Academy to deliver the New Earth Academy Midlands, an acting academy open to British East and South East Asians who have an interest in theatre and want to develop new skills.
The New Earth Performers Academy Midlands is a five-week online performance course open to anyone of East or South East Asian descent living and working in the UK and aged 18+. No previous performance experience is needed.
The course begins online on Saturday 26 June and runs until Monday 26 July. Students will meet with a guest director every Saturday afternoon, with additional evening sessions during the week in voice and movement as well as additional guest workshops. There will be lunchtime industry talks and the course will finish with a showcase for an invited audience on Saturday 31 July from 2 - 4pm.
The deadline for applications is Tuesday 27 April at 5pm, with online interviews on Saturday 29 May.
Anyone interested can find further information and apply online here. Applicants will be asked to write a paragraph about themselves and any previous performing experience, although previous experience is not required. You may submit a short video if you prefer.
