Since launching the RBC ticket booking system in 2020, event attendees have collectively donated more than £6,000 towards the Hardship Fund by adding a voluntary contribution to their ticket purchases. Every penny raised has gone towards supporting RBC students suffering financial hardship as a result of Covid-19.
With the worst of the pandemic hopefully now behind us, RBC are changing the focus of their fundraising through this platform to support the work of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Association (RBCA) in this, its 40th anniversary year. Originally a separate charity, but now formally part of RBC, the RBCA provides bursaries and audition fee waivers to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, thereby helping them to access a conservatoire education.
