BSc and MMus Music Technology graduate now a Technician, Connor Yarrington, has released a debut single that was recorded and produced at RBC.
‘Up and Coming Years’ by Tom South and the Lifeline was released last month and was self-produced at RBC by the band, in which Connor plays bass guitar.
After graduating from RBC with an MMus in Music Technology, Connor has continued working at RBC as a Halls and Studio Technician. Alongside this, Connor is also the bassist for the indie rock band Tom South and the Lifeline, which released its debut single, ‘Up and Coming Years’, on Sunday 27 October.
The single was recorded over several sessions in Studio 1 in July. Connor then started working on mixing the track using several studio spaces across RBC, including the Recital Hall Control Room and the Edit Suite. After getting the track mastered and then released in late October, it is available now on all streaming platforms.
Connor reflected: “It's a real privilege to have these studio spaces available to us as staff and students.”
He added: "While these spaces have been designed with classical and jazz music in mind, I hope that this release encourages students to explore producing and recording other genres too.”
