Enter Stage Right is a new writing competition taking place at the Birmingham Hippodrome on Thursday 25 January, with the aim of fostering emerging dramatic writing talent. The following evening, audiences can enjoy Amplified, a competition where Black and Asian writers will share their comedic talents on the same stage.

Both these competitions are part of Story Time, a three-day writing bonanza crammed with workshops and performances bringing to the fore new writing talent.

Comedian Cassandra Maria will be hosting Story Time, which has been produced by Acting alumna Natalie Yesafu.

Book your tickets here for Thursday 25 January and Friday 26 January.

On both evenings, the audience will enjoy plays written and performed by 17 final-year Acting students and five Acting alumni. There will also be musical and dance acts, followed by an awards ceremony.

All the performances will be judged by professionals from the world of TV, broadcasting and the stage, who will crown the champion. The audience will also have the opportunity to vote for the winner of the Audience Award.

Senior Lecturer in Acting Daniele Sanderson said: “The event, which features 22 RBC actors, will be a wonderful celebration of emerging RBC Acting talent. I will be directing ten short plays.”
