Kyle Horch studied at Northwestern University in Chicago, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London; his teachers included Frederick Hemke and Stephen Trier. As a student and young professional musician, he won prizes in competitions in Britain, Europe, and the USA. He has made numerous recordings as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. An active freelance musician, he has worked with many ensembles including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Rambert Dance Company, Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, the chamber ensemble ‘Counterpoise’, and his own ensemble “Flotilla”. As visiting saxophone consultant, Kyle works with Birmingham Conservatoire saxophone students once a term. Apart from this role, he has been a saxophone professor at the Royal College of Music in London since 1991, and is saxophone teacher at Royal Holloway, University of London. He has given masterclasses in Britain, Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, Singapore, and the USA.
