Careers and Job Prospects

Birmingham City Centre While some graduates have their career mapped out for them, for many of our students, looking for work can be a daunting prospect – and that’s where the Career Zone and the Employment Zone can help.

The Career Zone offers impartial advice and support to undergraduates wanting to find out more about the opportunities available when they have finished studying, and can continue to offer you help for up to five years after you’ve graduated.

The Employment Zone helps students and graduates improve their job prospects by generating work opportunities through graduate recruitment and entrepreneurship fairs, and by building relationships with employers. It also delivers two mentoring schemes for students offering work and networking opportunities with employers.

Check out our information on graduate destinations to find out what Birmingham City University graduates who studied your course are doing now.

You can drop into the Student Services office for initial advice and arrange to speak to a Careers Consultant or simply browse through this section of our website for information on planning your career, searching out the latest jobs and advice or finding the perfect role in which you can apply your skills and knowledge.

Visit the Career Zone team at the Student Services office on the first floor of the Baker Building at City North Campus, telephone them on +44 (0)121 331 5588 or email them at careers@bcu.ac.uk.
