And remember that many of the large companies employ Sandwich Year students every year and conduct their recruitment processes early. So don’t procrastinate!

It is important that you visit this site every week and apply promptly for all suitable opportunities. The site also contains lots of useful information and is able to record your progress.

For those looking for something local, visit Birmingham Central Library and check out their database of companies which is categorised by business sector, so you won’t have to search through the whole lot!
- Employers rarely advertise placement opportunities in newspapers but they can be useful for discovering the identity of organisations which may be worth approaching. You don’t even have to buy the paper. Newspapers normally advertise job opportunities on their websites.
Your tutors often have useful company contacts. Ask!

Each year a number of students find placements with employers where a relative or friend works. Don’t be shy. Nepotism works.
