The Employability Team
The Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment (CEBE) Employability Team supports students to gain internships and placements in roles related to their course in order to improve their employability when they complete their degree.
What we do:
Liaise and work with local and national employers to source and promote opportunities.
Provide 1:1 support to students, which includes CV and application advice, running mock interviews and advising on assessment centres and psychometric tests.
Run group sessions for students and organise sessions with employers on campus.
CEBE Faculty Employability Manager. David has over 10 years’ experience working within careers, recruitment and employability. He also looks after the Faculty International Travel Scholarship programme which he is passionate about because of his experience living and working in Thailand, Japan and Ukraine.
Faculty Employability Adviser. Shanna specialises in working with students from Engineering and Digital Technology courses. She has previous experience in supporting students in the Business School at Birmingham City University as well as with engineering students at Aston University.
Faculty Employability Adviser. Jon focuses on working with Computing students. He has worked at Birmingham City University for over 18 years and has a wide range of experience of working with academics, employers and students as well as coordinating the Erasmus programmes within the Faculty.
