About Us
The School of English is located at City North Campus, near the University’s Kenrick Library. The School is home to a copy of the archive of 19th Century publisher John Lane, and a collection of original Anglo-Norman correspondence. We are well positioned for easy access to Birmingham Central Reference Library and the Shakespearean collections at Stratford-upon-Avon, just 45 minutes away by road.
Our MA in Writing course is offered in partnership with the prestigious National Academy of Writing – a unique entity which provides student access to leading literary figures and agents.
Students are offered a full range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, plus access to bursaries and support for further research.
Teaching staff are published authors and leading researchers, and we regularly arrange lectures and seminars from visiting speakers.
Please contact the School of English if you'd like to find out more.
