TEF Gold

BCU was awarded the highest possible rating of Gold for Student Experience in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023.

Create stories that get people talking. Experiment with new formats. Question how media shapes the world around you. At BCU, you’ll develop your creative voice and the practical skills to turn your ideas into work you’re proud to share.

Across our media courses, you’ll build a grounding in the fundamentals of your discipline, giving you the knowledge and confidence to play, experiment, make and create. You’ll think critically about the media, develop your professional skills and collaborate with others to build a portfolio that showcases your talent.

You’ll learn with academic staff who bring first-hand industry experience and research expertise to your course. They’ll help you connect your ideas with professional practice, with opportunities to hear from guest speakers, take on live projects, gain mentoring and explore work placements.

Our media offering also includes new courses developed in partnership with the BBC, with the first launching in September 2027. These courses draw on BBC industry insight to help you develop the skills employers need across journalism, content creation, production and broadcast technology.
