Christopher Yu

Christopher Yu’s work explores an emerging wave of mental health issues, and aims to raise awareness of this epidemic. His lifelong passion lies in illustrations that inspire him and inform his personal style as a designer and maker.

After four years of living in Birmingham in the United Kingdom, Christopher has opened his mind, after experiencing different cultures first hand. Yu’s current collection of work was influenced by industrial surfaces and abandoned buildings and focuses on combining organic, living material like moss with architectural linear structures formed in steel wire.

“I have always been interested in wearable art since I started training as an artist. Besides learning the necessary techniques of high standard craftsmanship, practicing to be a jewellery designer and maker has also broadened my perspective of how objects can interact with the body. Pushing boundaries and creating classics are the destinations of this exciting journey.’’
