Richard has extensive applied experience in the field of Performance Analysis, having provided Performance Analysis support to elite coaches and athletes at the The English Institute of Sport, England Netball, Arsenal Football Club and Leeds United Football Club.

Winning a Gold Medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia, and subsequent BBC SPOTY Team of the Year and Moment of the Year award wins with England Netball were undoubtedly career highlights.

Richard completed his undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University in 2008, and completed his Master's degree in International Performance Analysis of Sport from Nottingham Trent University, in collaboration with Otto-von-Guericke University, Magdeburg, Germany and The University of Valencia, Spain, in 2014.

Specialising in Notational Analysis, GPS and Video Editing, Richard module leads the Level 5 Performance Analysis module, whilst also module leading Level 6 Professional Development in Relation to Sport, as well as supervising Research Projects and contributing to teaching on the wider Sport and Exercise Science programme.

Moving to live and work in Stockholm, Sweden in 2010, Richard speaks fluent (depending on who you ask!) Swedish and maintains a keen interest in language and travel.

Whilst teaching on the BSc Sport and Exercise Science course at Birmingham City University, Richard also maintains a presence in the Performance Analysis industry, presenting at conferences and providing Performance Analysis support to elite coaches and athletes on a consultancy basis.
