Andrew joined the faculty in January 2016 having previously worked at Coventry University from 2011 to 2015 and is a Senior Lecturer in International Management at the Department of Strategy, Management and Marketing.

He has extensive experience in the collaborative development of Individuals, strategic programmes / organisations as well as sector-wide best practice. This stems from extensive experience in Higher Education, Board Management, Global Operations and logistics, Consultancy and Multilateral Trade Development.

Within Academia, Andrew has worked extensively on the development of pedagogy, award winning global / industry partnerships, research, multidisciplinary employability and innovative learning solutions both at Birmingham City University and previously at Coventry University and their respective partners.

He’s also had a longstanding passion for enhancing pedagogy, transition skills, internationalisation, strategic conceptual thinking and stakeholder relationship management. Examples of key successes here have included commendation via past experience of co-creating and externally validating the impact and success of a university wide employability and internationalisation programme that won the Guardian award for Employability initiative 2015.

Overall, these experiences have supported Andrew’s course/ module leadership, design and delivery as well as additional roles in management of the relationships with professional bodies such as the Chartered Management Institute and in embedding employability, and internationalisation.

Additionally, Andrew’s previous role as a Board member (and Communications Champion) of the Chartered Management Institute’s West Midlands Board saw him lead on marketing, higher education engagement across the regions accredited universities and wider business development in the area since February 2013. This has supported his role in overseeing relationship management, curriculum enhancement, staff support, and embedding cross faculty employability programmes through the professional institution.

Andrew is also a Faculty Internationalisation champion having led international business development trips and initiated partnerships links with schools, agents and universities in East Africa.
