Samira is an ACCA-qualified accountant. She joined BCU in 2019 after working in practice for over 5 years. She is a Doctoral Candidate researching in Higher Education, a Lecturer in Accountancy, and a Course Leader of BSc Accounting and Finance in the college of Accounting, Finance, and Economics.
She has taught many subjects on the undergraduate and postgraduate level but specialises in Corporate Governance and Audit and Assurance.
Samira holds a Fellowship in HEA and now has embarked on a journey on an EdD in Higher Education where her research is around students’ attendance, engagement, and attainment. Her other research interests are around pastoral care and student-tutor relationships within Higher Education.
