Victoria has a strong affiliation with Birmingham City University (BCU), having graduated from there in 2005 when it was known as the University of Central England (UCE). Since graduating Victoria has been a proactive Alumna, initially supporting UCE work placement students during her time in practice, before establishing a part-time teaching role.

Since 2015, she has been consistently involved with the teaching team for BA(Hons) Interior Architecture and Design, working through multiple lenses; Supporter (Visiting Lecturer), Coordinator (Superstudio), Teacher (Level 5 Deputy Year Lead), Leader (Module Lead) and International Representative (Hong Kong). Victoria has taught across all undergraduate years, including Foundation, and supported with the Masters teaching delivery.

In March 2023, Victoria joined the BA IA+D team as a full-time permanent member having worked at the University of Wolverhampton as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BDes 3D Design (Product Design and Interior Design).

Victoria’s substantial experience in practice as an interior designer endorses her expertise within the subject area of Interior Architecture and Design and her underlying passion for good design. Victoria has a varied portfolio, working across a range of sectors: domestic, workplace, healthcare, hospitality, leisure, and education.

As a professional designer, Victoria is aware of the expectations that the Design Industry has, in relation to the preparedness and attributes of graduates, and has used her industry connections to lead upon this employability focus at BCU.

During her time as Level 5 Deputy Year Lead, Victoria established a fortnight-long event called ‘Industry Expedition’. This event encompassed an interwoven set of studio-based activities, a variety of fieldwork, study trips, site visits and guest speakers.
