Journalism student bags placement at Sky

Four Media and Communication students, have made it into the final selection for Birmingham School of Media and BSkyB Scholarship scheme and are due to start their two-weeks placement in September. 

The Sky Scholarship offers undergraduate and postgraduate media students from the Birmingham School of Media the opportunity to have an insight into the television industry and gain work experience with the media and communication company BSkyB.

Each year, placements are offered to media students that wish to expand their knowledge of the television and media industry. The students spend two weeks in BSkyB's London Headquarters, working closely with TV professionals in areas that vary from sports and arts to news and politics. 

Umar Hassan, first year Media and Communication (Journalism) student, is set to start his placement on 7 September 2015 and is looking forward to this opportunity:

In addition to the learning experience, the student judged to have performed best will receive a BSkyB scholarship of £1,500, while the runners up will get £500 each.
