Julie Hall is passionate about raising the profile of radiotherapy both as a cutting edge treatment for cancer and as a profession. To do this she helps to arrange open evenings at clinical radiotherapy departments in the West Midlands, she liaises with cancer networks and patient groups and writes a regular blog for NHS local, an online digital service launched by Maverick television on behalf of the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority.
As well as organising open evenings she has also supported exhibitions at important showcases, such as the British Science Festival hosted by the city in 2010. Julie’s research interests lie in patient information and simulation. Birmingham City University is the region's first and foremost centre for radiography education, with strong links with hospital departments in the West Midlands and beyond.
