Research - Digital Media Technology (DMT) Lab

Digital Technologies staff are involved in a number of exciting research projects. We work within three closely related and often overlapping research groups:

Image Processing and Mixed Reality

This group researches technologies for analysing, processing and manipulating images and virtual content for visualisation and interactive mixed reality systems. We develop new methods for visualisation of medical data, interacting with virtual objects and creating dynamic interactive presentation systems.

Digital Audio Processing

This group studies technologies for analysing and processing music, using a range of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) techniques. This involves processing musical event data in real-time and the processing of digital audio signals. Our research extends to embrace psychoacoustics and music theory/analysis/synthesis subject areas.
