After Paul graduated from University of Birmingham with a Degree in Accountancy, he decided to follow in his Father’s footsteps and became a Teacher. He undertook a PGCE at the University of London and then, upon graduating, taught high school Business Studies for five years.

He later decided to leave teaching and pursued a career in Accountancy. Paul completed his CIMA exams and training with the NHS in Birmingham. He then spent four years at the BBC as a Management Accountant, being involved with the significant change within the organisation.

Paul then emigrated to Australia and lived there for a number of years, working as a Financial Analyst at the University of Sydney before becoming an analyst at the Sydney Opera House. Upon returning to the UK, he worked as a Financial Analyst at the RAC in Walsall.

Prior to joining Birmingham City University, Paul worked at Walsall College teaching mainly on the AAT programme.
