Structure

Course Structure

Learning is primarily project-based and supported by lectures, seminars and specialist workshops. These will ensure that you learn to appreciate and understand all aspects of the design process and are aware of the commercial, cultural and technological context within which business operates. This aspect of your learning is supported by direct engagement with business which often enables you to undertake ‘live’ projects.

You will have access to a variety of facilities to support your studies, including computer aided design and equipped prototype development workshops which include rapid prototyping and digitally driven processes. The projects you undertake will help you to develop not only an understanding of your specialist subject but also transferable, intellectual and personal skills appropriate to the changing environment of professional practice.

Throughout the programme there is the opportunity to study overseas and engage with regular study trips, which will provide you with the ability to evaluate and assess the design field in greater depth.
