Regrettably, Birmingham City University Arts, Design and Media Archive have so far been unable to trace the copyright owners in many of the original artworks in our archives and collections. We regret that, where this is the case, the images are available and provided for reference and private research only and reproductions cannot be supplied. For more information, please contact us. We will be glad to receive any information concerning ownership of rights in works held in our collections.

Data Protection

The Data Protection Act 1998, passed on 16 July 1998, was brought into force on 1 March 2000. Anyone who holds information about readily identifiable living individuals must comply with data protection law in managing that information. Data protection law permits individuals to know what personal information is held about them and to correct it if necessary. It also ensures that the only other people who have access to that information are specifically authorised to do so. For this reason, some files and records with the Archive remain closed to all researchers.
