Tracey returned to Birmingham City University as a Senior Lecturer in 2016, having previously lectured at BCU (University of Central England) from 1995 to 2000. She qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1988, since qualification she has worked in the NHS and in independent practice and lectured as a Speech and Language Therapist. She has been external examiner for a Masters level module in Dysphagia and served 2 terms of office as a member of the RCSLT Professional Development & Standards Board.

Tracey has practiced at a highly specialist level in adult acquired communication disorders and dysphagia. She has a special interest in Neuro Rehabilitation for people with communication impairments as a result of acquired brain injury (ABI).

She currently teaches SLT intervention & management for people with Aphasia and/or cognitive communication disorders. She is part of the SLT simulation team and also teaches with other AHP’s at BCU to promote a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach.
