Mark Hetherington is the Course Leader for the HELS Foundation Year. His educational background is in Media and Communications and Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. Mark has specialised in the areas of designing curriculum to support the student learning process; assessment design and feedback; supporting students through mentorship and supervision, and reflective practice, which has aided in developing the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Science’s Foundation Year.

As well as Course Leader for the Foundation Year Mark is also a member of the Personal Development Department where he undertakes the role of Academic Tutor for students attending the many course within the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences, and Professional Navigator support health and social care professionals to choose the right Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses. Many people call to find out which courses can top up their diploma into a degree, or for further information about research postgraduate options. Others need to update their skills to remain members of a professional body or to specialise in a new area.
