Seven benefits of a Virtual Open Day

With COVID-19 changing the world as we know it, we’ve had to adapt to a more digital way of living. Over the past few months, we’ve been introduced to Zoom quizzes, virtual meetups, and several ways to save time, money, and stay connected. Below, we’ve listed some great reasons to join us at our Virtual Open Day and a list of benefits to you.

1. All aspects of uni life can still be explored

Our Virtual Open Days offer more than just course talks. Find out more about finance, check out the campus tours, and the Students’ Union, we have webinars to cover it all!

2. You can still take part in 1-to-1s with the course lead

If you would like to speak with a course lead directly, you can still do so! Our course leads are always happy to talk through your queries. Email your questions to helsmarketing@bcu.ac.uk and we will be in touch.

3. Take part from your bedroom

No need to wake up early and travel to your Open Day destination, you can now take part from the comfort of your own bedroom – you don’t even have to leave your bed if you don’t want to! All you’ll need to take part in the day is laptop or smartphone to log on, and a notepad and pen to jot down any notes you might want to remember.

4. A handy guide to FAQs

To make your Virtual Open Day experience more convenient, we’ve put together handy guides on common FAQs for our courses, making your day even easier! You wouldn’t get this at a normal Open Day. You can find them for Health, Education, Life Sciences, Nursing, Social Work, Teacher Training, Sport and Midwifery.

5. They’re even re-playable!

We understand how annoying it is when you happen to miss the end of a sentence you were listening too, or couldn’t quite catch the teachers email address. Well, in our Virtual Open Days, you won’t have that problem as they will all be recorded and available for you to watch back.

6. Going virtual means less work for you!

Choosing a university that’s right for you is no mean feat. Attending Open Day after Open Day can include a lot of travelling, time, and money. By going virtual, you can do it all from the comfort of your bedroom – and we’ve laid out the day for you step-by-step, meaning you can sit back and take it all in.

7. It’s completely free

We don't charge for our on-campus open days of course, but travelling to open days can sometimes occur costs, whether that’s via public transport or in petrol. Plus, you’ll save money with homemade coffee – that Starbucks will have to wait!
