Our Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduates have gone on to star in or work behind the scenes of television shows, blockbuster movies and stage productions. Check out what some of our talented Alumni are up to this month.
Alumna in new John Grisham series
Robyn Cara has been cast as Kelly Riker in USA Network’s The Rainmaker, a legal drama series based on the John Grisham novel, where she plays a woman in an abusive marriage who bonds with her neighbour, Rudy Baylor.
Line of Duty grad in new ITV show
Nigel Boyle has been cast as Ben Shergill in the new ITV six-part series, The Blame, starring opposite Michelle Keegan, Douglas Booth and Ian Hart. The show, produced by Quay Street Productions, will be filmed in and around London this summer.
Alumnus finalist for Spotlight
Tom McMillan, who graduated from our BA (Hons) Acting course this year, was a finalist for the 2025 Spotlight Prize, which culminates in a showcase giving graduates the chance to perform to a room full of industry professionals.
Graduate cast in touring production of Shakespeare
Alumnus Deven Modha has been cast in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s First Encounters production of King Lear, which will be touring the Country from September to December and aims to bring Shakespeare to younger audiences.
Acting alumni take to the stage in London
A group of BA (Hons) Acting graduates are taking centre stage at Camden Fringe with their original play Spare Room – a gripping dark comedy exploring gender politics, consent and addiction. The graduates, performing as Blue Duck Theatre Company, will present the play at the Hens & Chicken Theatre in Islington. Founded in 2024 by 14 RBC alumni, the company is dedicated to reviving classics and exposing societal taboos through theatre.
Alumna confirmed for next season of BBC show
Acting alumna Amalia Vatalie is confirmed to be returning for the second series of BBC’s out-and-proud Middlesborough comedy, Smoggie Queens.
