Manoher Singh

Manoher Singh, a dedicated Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at Birmingham City University since 2019, brings a wealth of experience from teaching across secondary, further, and higher education sectors. With a solid background in scientific research, Manoher has notably contributed to developing an ELISA assay at the University of Birmingham and investigating biological responses to orthopaedic implant particulate debris at a leading medical college. He is currently spearheading projects that explore biological responses to microplastics with his final year students. Concurrently, he is pursuing a Doctorate in Education, focusing on the nuanced engagement of non-traditional students with bioscience research projects, with the goal of refining student engagement strategies and pedagogical approaches.

Distinguished by his commitment to teaching excellence, as evidenced by nominations and positive reviews, Manoher is actively implementing reflective practices to enhance learning experiences in bioscience education. He harbours a particular passion for decolonising the bioscience curriculum and is a staunch advocate for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
