Bridgerton returns with alumna in the spotlight
Nicola Coughlan is back in a new season of Bridgerton! Season three of the Netflix hit Bridgerton, based on the books by Julia Quinn, kicked off this month. The season has been split into two instalments of four episodes each, with the second instalment coming in June. Acting alumna Nicola Coughlan stars as Penelope Featherington alongside Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton. Based on the novel Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the series will give Penelope and Colin, affectionately called #Polin by their fans, a friends-to-lovers arc.
Alumna in new Netflix series
Acting graduate Robyn Cara stars in new Netflix series Bodkin, an Irish dark comedy thriller which follows a group of podcasters who set out to investigate a disappearance in the Irish town of Bodkin. Robyn stars as Emmy Sizergh, Gilbert's podcaster assistant.
Graduates perform Shakespeare with new theatre company
In June, an impressive 13 BA Acting graduates will be putting on a production of ‘As You Like It’ with their brand-new theatre company, Blue Duck Theatre Company, at the Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) in Cannon Hill Park.
Acting graduate in Come From Away UK tour
Acting alumnus Daniel Cane is a standby in the UK and Ireland tour of Come From Away, which came to the Birmingham Hippodrome this month. It will be back in the West Midlands in November when it arrives at the Wolverhampton Grand.
Alumna touring Girls Night Out show
Stage Management alumna Eleanor Southwell is a Touring Manager for Red Entertainment, which will be touring Girls Night Out with Flat and The Curves in June and July.
Alumnus cast in show at Liverpool’s Royal Court
Acting graduate Reiss Barber is starring as Gavin in The Netherley Hillbillies at Liverpool’s Royal Court from 24 May-11 June!

Stage Management alumna touring the UK
Stage Management graduate Emilia Benetatos is the Assistant Stage Manager on In The Night Garden Live, which is currently touring the UK.
Graduate working on new short film
Acting graduate Joshua Ford has just wrapped filming on his new project, Exorcising Barry, starring Anne Hegarty from ITV’s The Chase.
Acting graduates return to Birmingham
This month, acting graduates Fred Wardle and Lucy Glassbrook returned to Birmingham with Proforca Theatre Company’s production of Flashbang at the Old Joint Stock Pub and Theatre. Fred plays the part of Ryan/Deano, with Movement Direction by Lucy.
Acting alumnus in national tour of beloved children’s show
Alumnus Edward Conroy, who graduated from our BA (Hons) Acting course in 2022, is currently on a six-month national tour as Sir Gadabout in Freckle Productions’ ‘Zog And The Flying Doctors’, based on the book by Julia Donaldson. The tour culminates at Cadogan Hall, London, for the whole of August.
