Acting graduate Deven Modha is making full use of his acting skills playing multiple roles in a new production of Macbeth.

Deven, who completed a BA (Hons) Acting at Birmingham School of Acting in 2011, is currently on tour with Tara Arts.

“It’s the first time I’ve worked on any Shakespeare since drama school – so it’s been a welcome challenge!” says Deven. “I’m playing multiple characters – all of which are very different – so this adds another dimension to the challenge.

“The director Jatinder Verma, quite rightly, places a lot of emphasis on making Shakespeare accessible and sharing the work generously with our audiences. It’s been a joy going on the journey with him and the cast”, he adds.

“The acting profession can be frustrating with its hurdles and setbacks”, tells Deven. “I try to remind myself from time to time that: there are so many of us in the same boat so we need to support each other; we should keep training and remember we do it because we absolutely love it”.

The Macbeth tour runs until 9 May 2015 – tickets and information are available on the Tara Arts' website.
