GIVE US A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF YOUR PROJECT
My project is a campaign proposal exploring familial criticism on skin confidence among 16 to 24 years old, aimed at normalising skin journeys through real life portrayal.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CONCEPT?
The lack of skin confidence starts at home. People from 16t-24 often suffer due to their skin conditions, which has led to loved ones criticising, humiliating, and commenting for who they are. My family’s comments about my colour and acne scars prompted me to investigate this topic. This motivated me to conduct surveys and interviews with individuals in this age range to gain more about their skincare experiences. One of the most significant conclusions from this was that people’s skin confidence has been knocked down by loved ones’ harsh comments about them. I now have greater insight and a deeper grasp of how the younger generation lacks skin confidence because of my extensive primary study.
WHAT PROCESSES HAVE YOU BEEN USING?
I used the Adobe Creative Suite, but in order to get the information for the campaign there was also a lot of primary research such as surveys and interviews.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE WITH YOUR PROJECT?
I aim to a highlight real-life situations from the target audience and try to normalise skin journeys.
HOW HAS YOUR COURSE HELPED YOU TO PREPARE FOR WORKING ON YOUR PROJECT?
Our course director and my tutor has been preparing me for this project by having a lot of live and clients briefs to make us feel confident in ourselves and abilities.
