Our Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduates have gone on to star in or work behind the scenes of television shows, blockbuster movies and stage productions. Check out what some of our talented Alumni are up to this month.

Alumna starts in Paddington musical

Amy Booth-Steel (top row, second from left) is playing the role of Lady Slone in Paddington the Musical, which debuted this month at the Savoy Theatre in the West End.

Amy graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2008.

Alumna makes National Theatre debut

Nicola Coughlan, who graduated from our School of Acting in 2011, is set to star in The Playboy of the Western World at the National Theatre in London, from 4 December 2025 to 28 February 2026.

Alumna returns to the Cobbles

Acting alumna and Corrie legend Catherine Tyldesley has returned to Coronation Street as Eva Price, the Rovers Returns' latest landlady. She described the return as ‘coming home’ to ITV.


Alumna returns to Birmingham for Christmas show

Acting alumna Deborah Tracey stars in Sherlock Holmes and the 12 days of Christmas, which is playing at the Birmingham Rep from Friday 14 November 2025 to Sunday 18th January 2026.

Alumnus filming new ITV drama

Acting graduate Jonathan Houlston is currently filming the highly anticipated new ITV drama, The Party, based on Elizabeth Day's bestselling novel. He will be playing the younger version of the main character, Martin Gilmour, played by Luke Evans.

Alumna wins first Gaming Award

Jennifer English, who graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2012, has just won best lead performer at the Golden Joystick Awards for her portrayal of Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which also picked up the award for Ultimate Game of the Year at the award ceremony.

New theatre opened by RBC alumni

Acting alumni John Partridge and Catherine Prout have opened Rother Street Arts House, giving the community arts venue, previously known as Stratford Play House, a fresh new identity.
