Graduates team up for Big Mood on Channel 4
School of Acting graduate Camilla Whitehill’s new show, Big Mood, is now on Channel 4, starring fellow Acting alumna Nicola Coughlan. The pair previously collaborated on their podcast, Whistle Through the Shamrocks. Big Mood follows Maggie (Coughlan), whose bipolar disorder puts her decade-long friendship with Eddie (Lydia West) to the test in a series of chaotic events. The show also stars BA Acting graduate Amalia Vitale.

Danielle Pinnock guest judge on Netflix baking show
Acting alumna Danielle Pinnock joined the judging panel of the Netflix baking show, Is It Cake?, for episode five of the third series. The show sees skilled cake artists creating mouthwatering replicas of handbags, sewing machines and more in this mind-bending baking contest.
Acting graduates collaborate on Amazon Prime show
Created by graduate Corey Campbell, SeaView is a three-part series starring School of Acting graduates Marcel White, Daniel J Carver, Linda Hargreaves, Kieran Amos and Emily Drewitt. SeaView is an urban, supernatural drama following Steven and his gift for prophecy.
Alumna stars in Full Monty play
Katy Dean starred as Jean in the award-winning ‘The Full Monty’ play, based on the classic comedy film, which toured the UK until 13 April.
Nicola Coughlan stars in new British comedy film
Acting alumna Nicola Coughlan stars alongside Aimee Lou Wood in Seize Them!, a British comedy set in Britain during the Dark ages. The film debuted in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 5 April.
Alumna tells mum's story on stage
Created by and starring Acting alumna Katie Arnstein, The Long Run at the New Diorama told the story of Katie’s mum’s cancer diagnosis and was presented in partnership with Cancer Research UK.
New take on Romeo and Juliet – with rap
Directed by graduate Corey Campbell, Acting alumna Kianyah Caesar-Downer will star as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry next year. The famous play will be retold through rap and R&B music.
Acting graduate in improv show at Birmingham Rep
MA Acting graduate Amber Gollay took part in Leap Before You Look, an improv show, from Told by An Idiot in partnership with Open Theatre and Birmingham Rep on 20 April.
Alumna working on Stock Aitken Waterman musical
Stage Management alumna, Libby Glass, is the Assistant Stage Manager on the musical I Should Be So Lucky. The show came to Birmingham earlier this month, and tours the UK until 11 May.
Alumna starring in gospel-powered theatre show inspired by 1980s Birmingham
Acting graduate Kianyah Caesar-Downe stars in Community Service, a new show by Birmingham based theatre company Stan’s Cafe. Set against the backdrop of the 1981 Handsworth Riots, Community Service is an emotional and uplifting show about the life of community hero Trevor Prince.
Acting graduate stars in Dickens play at National Theatre
BA Acting alumnus Eric Mok stars in London Tide at the Lyttelton Theatre from 10 April to 22 June. Adapted by Ben Power, London Tide is based on Charles Dickens’ Our Mutual Friend, featuring songs by P J Harvey.
RBC grads return to Birmingham
Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduates, Kate Roche, Robert Wolfe and Becky Dueck, are currently on tour with Dickens Theatre Company. In April and May, Revision on Tour, comprising of three unique stage adaptations of Macbeth, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde and Romeo and Juliet, comes to the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham.
