Dr. Morteza Mohammadzaheri

Morteza Mohammadzaheri received his PhD in Intelligent Control Systems from the School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Adelaide, Australia, in February 2011. Following PhD graduation, he has served three and a half years as a postdoctoral fellow and more than ten years as a faculty member in the areas of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. He is currently an Associate Professor in Mechatronics and the Academic Lead for Employability and Mobility at the College of Engineering, Birmingham City University. Dr Mohammadzaheri also has a secondary role at Siemens UK with 50% load.

In terms of teaching and module/programme development, Dr Mohammadzaheri has ten years of experience in lecturing and more than four years in tutoring/lab demonstration. Between 2018 and 2021, he has developed curricula for two modules and reviewed two different Engineering programmes. Now, he is the module lead for Individual Honours Projects at the College of Engineering and Manufacturing Automation and Control.

In terms of research and supervision, Dr Mohammadzaheri has published 136 peer reviewed research articles or book chapters including 64 peer-reviewed journal papers. He has also secured 16 competitive research funds to conduct and present research in five different countries. Dr Mohammadzaheri has supervised 66 students at Bachelors, Masters, Master of Philosophy and PhD levels towards completion. He is a registered PhD examiner at Adelaide University, Australia, since 2018 and at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, since 2020.
