An Offer Holder Day is more in-depth than an Open Day and gives you a more tailored experience. You’ll find out more about your course and hear about the student experience through taster sessions and opportunities to meet academic staff and current students. You can also visit our accommodation and chat to our support services.
If you have already been to an Open Day, this is your chance to explore your course and department in more detail and if not, you’ll get an in-depth introduction to studying here.

Lunch is included for offer holders and parents/guardians. Staff and students will also be available during this period to answer any questions you may have about studying at BCU.

Offer holders: Your first taster session
Have you ever wondered what type of costs businesses consider when calculating the cost of manufacturing a product? In this session, we cover the different types of costs through the medium of Lego! Through the process of designing and building a Lego bridge, you will develop an appreciation of fixed and variable costs, how to cost a product, but most importantly, how to work effectively together in teams to develop a product.

This session will explore the core management accounting concept of costing using Gamification. Get creative with designing and building a bridge whilst understanding how costing will play an important part of the construction process.

This taster session will illustrate the idea of productivity, diminishing returns and increasing costs of production using a pizza making game. Run a pizza production factory, organise your workforce and see how staff numbers affect your productivity and costs.
A fun and interactive "Finance Fun and Choices" activity, where you will learn the basics of finance and discover how different amounts of money affect the choices we make! Through a hands-on game involving pretend money, you will decide whether to play it safe or take a chance with their finances, all while learning about saving, spending, and the excitement (and challenge!) of taking risks. This activity brings money concepts to life, helping you build practical skills in a fun, engaging way. Don’t miss out on this exciting adventure in financial decision-making!
