Will the UK go into lockdown?

UNIVERSITY NEWS LAST UPDATED : 23 MARCH 2020

Centre for Brexit Studies Senior Fellow Dr Steven McCabe shares his thoughts and views on coronavirus (COVID-19) and if the UK could go into lockdown this week.

With stricter measures to keep the public from spreading the virus being debated in Parliament, there is a growing possibility of the UK going into lockdown. Lockdown could mean staying indoors unless you need to shop, visit a pharmacist or work, if working from home is not permitted.

In the video shared today, the expert also discussed the impact that the virus is having on people’s work and lifestyle changes, if socialising with others is being ‘selfish’ or if there is still confusion around what is and isn’t allowed, and what industries could be the worst hit from the crisis.
