Centre for Brexit Studies Researcher David Hearne has shared his thoughts and views on coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact the ongoing crisis is having on the hospitality sector.
With Prime Minister Boris Johnson expected to announce this week if the hospitality sector can reopen on 4 July, David discussed how much the industry contributes to the economy, and how important pubs and restaurants are to the UK post-lockdown.
In a video shared today, the expert also discussed the stark differences between young people and older people and their stance towards if and when life will return to normal.
With a significant number of people still ‘shielding’ or choosing to keep their social interaction to a minimum, David discussed how the hospitality industry could entice people back to a new ‘normal’.
