Centre for Brexit Studies Senior Fellow Dr Steven McCabe has shared his thoughts and views on coronavirus (COVID-19) and Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s latest plans announced in his budget this week.
With VAT being cut on hospitality, and the chance for people to get 50% off at restaurants in August, the expert discussed if this is enough for the sector to survive across the UK, and what more can be done at this stage.
In a video shared today, Dr McCabe also discussed if sectors like aviation, fitness and retail are being ‘ignored’ by the Government in the latest budget announcements, and what is next for those industries.
With the Government stating that they have put in place ‘one of the most comprehensive economic responses in the world’, the expert discussed just how ‘radical’ the budget really is.
