Centre for Brexit Studies Director Professor Alex de Ruyter has shared his thoughts and views on coronavirus (COVID-19) and if the pandemic will push the UK economy towards the deepest recession on record.
Being an incredibly worrying time for businesses and livelihoods, Professor de Ruyter discussed what he expects to see unfolding in the coming weeks.
In a video shared today, the expert discussed if employers could feel pressured to get their staff back to work before it is safe to do so, as well as the government’s job retention scheme, and what industries we can expect to bounce back quickly, and what sectors could feel the effects of the crisis for years to come.
Professor de Ruyter also discussed the impact future waves of coronavirus in the coming months and years could have on the Government and the Conservative Party.
