Centre for Brexit Studies Senior Fellow Dr Steven McCabe has shared his thoughts and views on coronavirus (COVID-19) and the Bank of England’s latest news that Britain’s economy is recovering more quickly than initially feared, and if this is good news for the economy or too soon to tell.
With recruiters reporting the sharpest rise in UK job seekers since December 2008, the expert discussed if the ongoing coronavirus crisis could have the same impact as 2008, or if it could be much worse.
Dr McCabe also discussed what more needs to be done to support parents, carers and disabled people throughout this crisis, after a recent report found that they are twice as likely to lose their job.
