UNIVERSITY NEWS LAST UPDATED : 13 JULY 2020

Centre for Brexit Studies Director Professor Alex de Ruyter has shared his thoughts and views on the latest in the Brexit process, now that the Government’s new Brexit campaign ‘UK’s new start: let’s get going’ is underway, which aims to provide advice on how to prepare for the end of the transition period.

In a video shared today, the expert discussed Priti Patel’s post-Brexit immigration details, how the ‘points-based’ system will work, and what will increase someone’s chances of being able to live and work in the UK.

With a recent study showing that three in four UK firms are unprepared for Brexit, Professor de Ruyter also discussed how difficult it could be for businesses to tackle any issues stemming from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, as well as trying to understand what Brexit means for them.

The expert also questioned how best citizens and companies can prepare for something that we’re still unsure of what the outcome will be.
