Nathan Dewell
Nathan is the course leader for BSc (Hons) Game Technology, bringing expertise in technical game development, real-asset workflows, and interactive worldbuilding.
I originally joined BCU as a student and found an incredibly supportive and inspiring academic environment. After graduating, I was hired into the teaching team and have continued to grow with the department. I am now a Senior Lecturer and lead the Game Technology course. My expertise spans Unity and Unreal Engine development, technical art, shaders, version control, and optimisation. I focus on teaching students how to build scalable, efficient game systems and how to work effectively in teams. I also have a research interest in using games for education, and exploring accessible game development workflows, lowering the barrier for entry.
