Birmingham Rocks Festival
Our students get the chance to work on some fantastic projects – the Birmingham Rocks Festival is just one of them.
'Gigster Promotions UK Limited' teams up with students from the School of Digital Media Technology, and other related courses around the University, to help deliver this very special music festival, celebrating the very best unsigned artists in the UK.
As well as managing the event and working alongside the promoter to ensure smooth running on the day, our students set up and operate complex lighting and PA systems to ensure excellent quality sound and visuals for both artists and audience. They also operate a multi camera setup that is mixed live with the audio, and is streamed around the University and on the internet
Learning and deploying key skills like these in a fast moving, technical industry is what makes our Sound Engineering and Production students employable.
How our students became part of Birmingham Rocks
On Saturday 15 November Gigster Promotions UK Limited delivered the third Birmingham Rocks Festival, with a little help from our students. The festival celebrated the very best unsigned artists in the UK and featured new artists, new sounds and some breakthrough music.
