Alex Hocknull is a postgraduate horn player studying at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with Andrew Littlemore, Simon de Souza, Elspeth Dutch and Jeremy Bushell. Alex is returning to the Conservatoire on a full scholarship to study for a Postgraduate Certificate in Instrumental Performance after receiving first class honours for his undergraduate degree.
Elena Toledo is a British-Cuban violinist in her fourth year of undergraduate studies at RBC, where she studies with Caroline Pether. As an orchestral musician, Elena frequently plays as an auditioned extra with the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester. She has performed many concerts, tours in the UK and Spain, and Live BBC Radio broadcasts with them, and has performed under conductors including Sir Mark Elder, Thomas Adès, Alpesh Chauhan, Jonathan Bloxham, and with soloists Nicola Benedetti and Steven Isserlis.
Joachim Lim was born in Singapore in 2001 and is currently pursuing a master's degree at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the tutelage of Professor Pascal Nemirovski. He previously studied at The Purcell School. Joachim has received top prizes in several piano competitions, most recently the Beryl Chempin Beethoven Prize in December 2021, and he has performed most notably at the Weill Recital Hall at the Carnegie Hall; the Fazioli Concert Hall; the Ateneo de Madrid, and across London, at the Milton Court Concert Hall; the Purcell Room; St Martin-in-the-Fields and Drapers’ Hall.
