Dr. Waleed Bin Shahid

Dr. Waleed Bin Shahid is working as a Research Fellow on the WMHTIA (West Midlands Health Tech Innovation Accelerator) project at the School of Computing and Digital Technology, Birmingham City University, UK. He is an information security academician and researcher with over 13 years of combined experience in academia and industry. He completed his PhD from NUST, Pakistan in 2022. Previously he served as Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Security at NUST, Pakistan from 2017 to 2023 and as Lecturer from 2013 to 2017. He has also worked at Ufone, a leading Telecom Service provider in Pakistan and Tranchulas, an information security service provider. He has published 7 Journal papers in reputable Q1 journals and has also presented several papers at internationally renowned conferences. He has been involved in several funded research projects as Co-Principal Investigator and Project Lead. He is a Certified Cyber Essentials Assessor (IASME) and has done security certifications like CEH, CHFI, ECIH and CSCU.
